How Long Do Windshield Repairs Take?

Windshields provide protection for drivers from the wind, rain, and any other debris that is kicked up off the roadway. It is common for things like rocks and hail to damage windshields. Small chips and cracks may not seem like much but they can quickly expand to become much wider. If this happens, you will need to replace your windshield instead of just repairing it. It is important to note that window replacements cost more and take longer as well.



Windshields can be repaired if the crack or chip is less than a few inches. Anything more than a few inches will require a windshield replacement. If it is repairable, it will only take 30 minutes or less. A windshield replacement will take up to 60 minutes to complete. For repairs to be done, your windshield must be dry. We recommend that you do not drive for at least an hour before the repair appointment.
